Team's First Day.

After breakfast the team headed out for a campus tour and to work on a project list so they could place an order for any needed lumber and supplies. I remained behind with Eli and Anna to fit in a bit of school and work on a few projects.

Soon Dad returned with Mom who fell on the way down to the school. After a bit of first-aid and clean up we continued with the day.

The first wood project that the guys tackled is an armoire for the on-call nurses to put their clothes in during the night. Past teams left enough lumber for this small project.

Lunch consisted of chicken rice casserole, fresh bread, tomatoes and coleslaw. This afternoon the children spend some time removing the skins off roasted peanuts. The ladies helped to label, address and stamp the envelopes for our next Newsletter. This morning mom and Heidi helped edit the newsletter so soon Cory will start printing. We packed up the Christmas tree and decorations.

Then late in the afternoon mom and I processed some fresh beef from an unfortunate cow who fell down the mountain side and could not walk. By selling all the meat the family recovered some of the money that the cow was worth but not enough to be able to replace the cow.

Pastor Denord stopped in before supper to welcome the team. Then while we enjoyed supper [left overs with molasses cookies and cinnamon rolls [most of us will enjoy our cinnamon rolls for breakfast] a large truck came to deliver the lumber order.

The guys plan on making church benches and some large cupboards for the medical records room. Pastor Rigo would also like a bunk bed for the nurses call room but today the needed lumber could not be found.

Note-the lumber was not missing per say but the stores that Jean Pierre stopped at did not have the items the guys needed.

It seems like you are leaving out a lot of details from this post. The post doesn't even have a title. What is it with Mom falling down, the cow falling down, lumber missing, ...
I can only imagine.

We need to send up more prayers up for all of you.

I think that this verse is perfect for today:

“How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion,
Thy God reigneth!”
Isaiah 52:7 (KJV)

I pray for God's hand of protection over all of you, His word to light your path, and strength in your voice to proclaim "Our God Reigns!" Amen!
