Dear Support team

If your really in need of news from us-check out Sloan's web page at Haiti Happenings: cksloan.blogspot.com They have offered to post any news they hear from us during our trip to Petit Goave. The following is what we sent to our support team. We didn't get all our E-mail addresses updated so some of you may not be receiving our E-mails yet. Please let us know if you would like to be added. Note we will not be checking E-mail much in the next couple of weeks. May the Lord use you and bless you. Kris

Dear Support Team,

Tomorrow we plan to fly from Cap Haitian on MAF’s new Kodiak plane to Port-au-Prince where we will be met and driven out to the Wesleyan Petit Goave campus. Kris worked there already at the field clinic to help earthquake victims. This trip the whole family will be going. Cory will leave us for a few days to help a relief team doing agricultural assessment.

We said our good-byes to the His Hands/Warsaw team this morning. Tomorrow if things work out we’ll cross paths with a 4 man team from the Grant Michigan church. Thankfully the Baileys and Sloans are very capable of hosting the team and keeping them busy. While it is very strange to be leaving with guests arriving we know it is what the Lord has for our family at this time.

The team brightened up each place they worked. The nurses station has new cupboards, white walls and green curtains. The old X-ray room lost a wall, is now white with shelving transforming it into a pharmacy stock room. The old stock room will now serve as the administrator’s office and more storage. The pharmacy also received a make over- [pictures on the blog].

We will be bringing in medical supplies [donated and purchased] as well as clothes, baby packets and other items that the team left. This time I plan to bring the camera along and have Eli and Anna keep personal journals. When we return I’ll share parts of our family’s experience on the blog and give you a kid’s perspective on the earthquake and relief efforts.

We don’t know if and when we’ll be able to check our E-mails during the next two weeks. We are planning to return home on March 6th. If you need to reach us before that time please try to call or contact Global Partners.

Please continue to pray for the requests we sent out last time. The spring rains soaked Port-au-Prince this week and thousands who are still living in the streets under bed sheets and tarps. Pray for wisdom for those delivering aid as well as those working on rebuilding plans.

Pray for the country as many people are turning to the churches for spiritual support as well as physical. May this be the start of a country wide revival that spreads around the world. The earthquake taught us that life as we know it can change in the blink of an eye. None of us knows how much time we may have left. May each use our time wisely.

Sincerely yours,

Cory, Kris, Eli and Anna
