Saturday, 16th.

Kris was on line a little today so I have some more news. She didn't work as long today, about 6 hours and is trying to get some rest.
Kris probably doesn't know it yet but he mission driver is set now to pick her up about 6am to bring her to the group from LaGonave that is now working in a nearby part of Port au Prince, at Carfour Feuilles Wesleyan school. The church there, which is the largest Wesleyan church in Haiti fell yesterday.
Here in the North the gas stations closed for most of yesterday and today and already drivers and trucks are running out of gas and more people have to walk because transport is just not available. It looked like less than half the normal vehicle traffic. All of Haiti's fuel normally comes from Port au Prince. Now it will have to come from the Dominican Republic through street vendors at a higher price.

Correction from yesterday's post -the college campus has 40,000 don't have a guess how many are in the hospital yard but hundreds. Ask folks to pray that the phones start working, for me to connect with the Wesleyan group. and for Mme. Felecien. If I don't connect don't know how long I can stay here-more help is at Diquine now-will try to get on line again tomorrow if I can use a computer. NEED SURGERY,surgeons, othoped, supplies or tens of thousands will die.

Greetings to friends and family of Dr. Kris. I am Vicki Brentin, a Houston Rotarian who had the priviledge of meeting Dr. Kris this past week when she became my roommate at the Seminary Villa - joining my other Rotary Houston friends Michelle, Genelle and Suzanne. We spent the next 3 days together praying and sharing. We succeeded in returning home after an unbelievable journey and are very blessed to be home now with our families and friends. However, our hearts remain with Dr. Kris. We want you all to know how much we admire her courage and spirit - what an amazing woman. We are committed to staying in touch with her and will work to find financial support for her work. We will try to reach her directly, but if we do not succeed will you please give her our love and let her know we are thinking of her. God Bless, Vicki
