Earthquake update Wednesday

Kris was able to call again early this morning after many tries. They are still busy at Petit Goave mission campus but not too overloaded. There aren't any other clinics working there so they may get more swamped if news gets out more. She did a lot of triage, crowd control and translating yesterday. People were cooperative for the most part but some of the people with minor injuries were getting impatient with having to wait so long. A news crew, NBC came causing some crowding but later a shower thinned out the people who didn't need help as much. She said yesterday how this seems so unreal. She will probably be there a few weeks. A MASH unit is still in the process of getting sent to them. Last planeload is to arrive Friday. Steve Edmondson, the Dr. coordinating this has a blog and is on site now. He has some news at http://www.cultureandsensitivity.blogspot.com/

The eye doctor I saw Tuesday morning will be heading to Haiti this week to help. He knows two doctors living in Port that he hadn't heard from until that morning. He was very happy to hear from them, as you can imagine, and was anxious to go and help them as soon as he could. He told me that he goes to Haiti every two years to help with clinic.
I told him that I would also pray for him too.

Have been praying for your safety since the quake. We saw you at KCC Kentwood and are keeping you in our prayers. Wish we could be there to help. God Bless!
