Clinic Prayer Update 5 Jan. 2010

Happy New Year.

Wanted to give all you who prayed for the clinic in December an update of how the month went.

  • Patients seen 457 which is 58% of last year's December clinic crowd.
  • Many of these patients received Gospel tracts, talked to Pastor Rigo, where prayed for and received Moringa trees
  • While the clinic is not self sufficient financially it is not as far in debt as last year with all the employees having been paid for 2009.
  • We have 16 people planing to visit on work teams in Feb. The main project for this year's teams is to work on improving the clinic buildings.
  • Pastor Rigo's sister has recovered mentally 100% and just has some continued stomach issues.
  • Miss Linda who was instrumental in starting the competing clinic across the road has resigned.
  • We're thankful that the equipment worked well in December and that Cory and Bill have been able to get the clinic on an inverter system again.
  • Only a couple of rainy days in December. Already had a couple in January.
  • Thank you again to the 60 people who let me know that they were praying daily.

Continued Prayer Requests
  • Wisdom for leadership as they discuss the future of the clinic-including the possibility of no longer providing 24 hour care [To continue to provide this care a new internist needs to come for their year of National Health service soon and we need a replacement nurse ASAP]
  • For Miss Ermadine as she is currently the only nurse to cover nights, emergency room after hours and weekends.
  • For Miss Linda and Dr. Dorsaintvil's spiritual health-that they may be set free by the truth of God.
  • That the projects for the teams can be lined up, supplies located and purchased at a good price, safety and health for the teams.
  • Pastor Rigo's health and safety with travel. He is currently living in Trou de Nord and commuting over 2 hours a day one way to the clinic. Christmas Day he was married and so is adjusting to married life.
  • That if a new intern and nurse are found that they would work with the current staff now, have high levels of skill and knowledge and have a strong evangelical faith.
  • For increased impact on the community- physical health as well as emotional and spiritual health.
  • Team as they bring in some additional medications and medical tools from the USA.
Pastor Rigo would like to add one as well-the building that his church rents to meet in weekly has tin sides and gets unbearable hot. Also leaks with the rains. While he has looked for other rental locations nothing is open at this time. His church will celebrate it's tenth anniversary this coming Sunday.
