Clinic Prayer Update 12 Dec.

I can't tell you how thankful I was to be able to report to the medical staff that we had 60 people respond to our challenge for daily prayer partners in December.
And we know that many of the 60 are representatives of more people-friends, churches, Sunday school classes and small groups who are also praying.

Pastor Rigo shared with us that yesterday he visited with three young men risking their lives with immoral life style choices. They finished their conversations by requesting that he pray for them to find the Lord. Please continue to pray for the initial requests that we shared. I have been able to share Creole tracts and pray with many patients. It is our biggest prayer that the medical work is Kingdom work. We don't want to only help the physical suffering of this world but to introduce people to the Lord who can carry their burdens.

I talked to Pastor Rigo and asked how things were going: Praise the Lord this past week the clinic/hospital was able to provide care to a robber who was severely beaten. He had no family or friends to care for him. The clinic picked up the bill for his hospital stay. We are praying that he sensed the Lord's love and will decide give up his life of crime and follow the Lord. Recently a robber in the area was caught and killed. This man received a second chance.

Clinic patient numbers have almost doubled on most days over our November clinic numbers. While this is lower than last year's December clinic numbers we are seeing a fair number of first time patient visits. Many folks are leaving with their free Moringa trees. Pastor was so upset for advertising that a Pediatrician was going to be at clinic the first week of December. The Pediatrician/medical team didn't send notice that they had canceled their trip until the day they were to arrive. He spent the first day hunting down a Haitian Pediatrician to could work for us until the 9th as advertised. Dr. Barbara worked out nicely. The weather has also cooperated-with it only raining at night. December remains warmer and drier than normal.

Pastor Rigo worries about some of the costs involved with this special deal. You may remember that for one low price the patient is seen by a doctor, gets basic laboratory tests and medications. Some of the patient costs are more than double what they paid to be seen! While I understand his concern, as a doctor who is already limiting the medications to the bare minimum I think we'll need to continue to give the best care we can. Thankfully a few gifts have just been received that will help buy medications.

Pastor Rigo's sister is feeling a little better. Pastor just finished the beginners English class and is busy in his church activities which include presiding over 4 weddings this month. He himself is preparing to be married soon as well.

Thank you again for partnering with us.

Thanks for the update - I will show the kids later when they are done with their school work. Some great answers to prayer, but still much to pray for there in Haiti.
