Saw 10 folks-found out as I was going to send a poor gentleman all the way to Cap Haitian for an X-ray for his poor foot that stepped in a hole last night and twisted that he could have an X-ray only a few kilometers away in Limbee. Now don't get me wrong I'm very grateful that I learned this before he was on the road an additional 20 kilometers-on a very rough road with a possible broken ankle.
BUT I have been asking every doctor who I have ever seen work here for a list of places to refer for testing or specialists. I have a very short list with about 5 names on it all for Cap Haitian!!!! I just sent a poor man with a hole in his foot-a dislocated big toe and bone visible through the hole on that long and painful trip on Monday night. FRUSTRATING.
This afternoon after sending my patients on their way the kids and I worked on some more school, worked on getting letters ready for tomorrows mail bag to the USA and made some homemade corn chips for our Haitian version of 'Chex Mix"
Cory's trip to Marmalade last week-he's holding fresh squeezed orange juice and in the truck are about 50 plants [4 types] of bamboo. He also bought a couch for the House of Hope.

It wouldn't be work if you didn't have "frustration" in it. ;-)
Keep your eyes on the goal!
Keep up the great work!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
