OK I'm cheating a bit today but will confess it up front so that the Sonlight folks don't tell on me. Our home school curriculum has an active on-line forums where you can go-read posts and learn lots. On area is for Internationals and I have enjoyed meeting new friends since starting Sonlight. This was my post today. Because some folks on that forum are in lands where their computers could be checked-you'll notice we don't use words like prayer. But 'lifting you up' we all understand is the same as 'praying for you.'
Today got to met the new doctor who will be joining us. Didn't have any time to ask if he is to be the new medical director, when he will start or anything but it is nice to know that help is on the way.
Seeing patients 5 days a week, and every single one has been hard in that there are just so many sad situations.
Told an expectant mom that she has HIV yesterday.
Telling an Aunt that the orphaned 1 month old is in heart failure and needs to see a specialist.
Today telling the mom of a 11 month old that she is almost 9 weeks along and hearing that the father wanted to abort [he was there too so we had a talk and
]
Seeing that 80% of everyone has anemia, the little kids who have orange haired from malnutrition, those with high blood pressure who go off their medications because of cost [saw a 40 some year old who had a stroke on Tuesday now with right arm weakness because of no medications]...... And so on........
I'm very thankful to those who help out our clinic financially so some medications and treatment are available. And that I can give out Moringa trees so that in a few months some will be able to start to eat better.
But it makes a body weary in mind and spirit.
