We finished up a bit of school, showed Chris and Kathleen about, helped them hook up their stove, do laundry, and learn to pump water into the cistern.
In the afternoon Eli, the guys and I transplanted all the baby banana plants into their own pot or bag. A few had died already but some have 2-4 plants together. Once they are stronger and the rainy season has started Cory will be able to separate those into their own pots.
We are enjoying getting to know Chris and Kathleen. If you would like to learn more about them and get a second opinion of life and ministry at Fauche you can visit their web page at http://cksloan.blogspot.com
Church was full today so we again brought our plastic chairs and sat just outside the windows on the porch. This is helpful as I don't feel my translation is as disruptive. I introduced and translated for them as they greeted the church. Stumbled a bit when I couldn't remember the word for 'greetings' but helpful church members chimed in.
I was called out of church to see a patient at the clinic. She had neck pain and anemia. No laboratory testing can be done on Sunday so she was given some pain pills, Iron and Vit. B complex and a return visit.
Tomorrow morning [3 a.m.] Cory will hit the road going to the boat dock to hopefully catch the ferry to LaGonave. He is going for a quick business visit and to pick up some trees. Then on Tuesday he will return to the mainland and head to Port-au-Prince to renew the yearly paperwork on the truck and do some shopping. We hope to see him back by Thursday night.
Normally mom does science but Anna's project is growing corn and beans so he is helping. Her beans are growing twice as fast as they should be. They are acting like 6 day old plants, at three days. Mom will take over during the trip.
