Yesterday was a day of small jobs, lots of laughs and packing for the team. We cleaned up and put away tools. Mom and I covered the old kitchen counter top with some new contact paper. Also curtains were hung over the bottom cupboards where the doors are missing.
A small amount of painting and sewing was completed. Dad and Bill went to visit a nearby house with school children's Moringa trees growing. They said that our report of six foot trees was wrong. The trees they saw were between 8 and 12 feet! These were given out in May.
We prayed in the house with the guys who helped work on it with the team asking the Lord to use the building to strengthen and enlarge His kingdom. The team and workers expressed their gratitude for the work done the last 11 days and said their good byes. Good Byes as well to the cooks.
The Warsaw part of the team had prepared some questions and did video interviews with the folks, Cory and I. Some of the video maybe used to show the church back home about this trip. The afternoon was also spent cooking our Thanksgiving dinner.
Couldn't miss the opportunity to celebrate with our folks and our 'team family'. We had picked up a turkey breast and cranberry sauce in Port-au-Prince and the team brought in the pumpkin pie filling. It was almost like in the States. A few comments about the white not orange sweet potatoes and lack of football on TV but mostly compliments on the food and family feeling.
The team are scheduled to leave Haiti at noon. They will be getting into Chicago very late and then still have a few hours to drive. Warsaw is planning on getting in about 2 am. This is if there are no delays-which is always possible. Please pray for their trip. We will miss them.
